Bibendum Sessel von Eileen Gray für Classicon, 1989

3 500.00 EUR
This piece was designed by Eileen Gray. Bibendum is a chair reissued by Classicon that was originally designed for the furnishing of the Villa E 1027. Eileen Gray calls this chair Bibendum to emphasize the forms reminiscent of the Michelin man. It is composed of a U-shaped chromed steel tube structure and a seat padded with polyurethane, polyester wadding and covered with leather. Eileen Gray was one of the first to use tubular steel structures like other designers such as Marcel Breuer and Charlotte Perriand. The backrest and armrests are made of two rolls superimposed on a deep seat.
